Certification, why?
Many organizations have their management system certified by an objective ‘outsider’ known as a certification body (CB). This CB is supervised by the Council for Accreditation. Companies have several reasons for choosing certification, which will differ from organization to organization but will be a mix of the following:
- Improving performance
- Improving employee involvement
- More certainty about risk management
- Better relationship with customers
- Better relationship with neighbours and supervisory bodies
