Certification, why?

Many organizations have their management system certified by an objective  ‘outsider’ known as a certification body (CB). This CB is supervised by the Council for Accreditation. Companies have several reasons for choosing certification, which will differ from organization to organization but will be a mix of the following:

• Improving performance
• Improving employee involvement
• More certainty about risk management
• Better relationship with customers
• Better relationship with neighbours and supervisory bodies
