Board
The board is responsible for SCCM’s policy and for its carrying out this policy. It reports to the Supervisory Board. The management consists of two representatives from industry and two representatives from government.
SCCM has two Central Committees of Experts (CCEs) that work for all affiliated certification bodies:
Central Committee of Experts for Environment (CCE-E)
The CCE-E gives the board binding recommendations about the ‘ground rules’ for certification on the basis of the ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards. There are 15 seats on the CCE-E (5 for industry/private sector, 5 for government, 5 for third parties). Not all seats need to be filled. Members are appointed by the board. The CCE-E meets twice a year with its affiliated certification bodies. Members of the CCE-E may have a position elsewhere, besides with the organization they represent for SCCM.
Central Committee of Experts for OHS (CCE-OHS)
The CCE-OHS g gives the board binding recommendations about the ‘ground rules’ for certification of OHS management systems on the basis of the OHSAS 18001 standard. There are a maximum of 15 seats on the CCE-E (5 for industry/private sector, 5 for government authorities and insurance companies, and, 5 for third parties). Not all seats need to be filled. Members are appointed by the board. The CCE-E meets twice a year with its affiliated certification bodies.
Appeals Committee (AC)
The Appeals Committee gives binding pronouncements when there is an appeal against decisions by the board regarding such things as the content of established rules for certification or decisions regarding organizations participating in the EMAS regulation. The AC members are appointed by the board.
